Founded in 2012 by music and media producer Spencer Proffer and veteran newspaper publisher Judith Proffer, Padaro Press is an imprint of Huqua Press that curates popular culture titles.
Padaro Press is named after a magical stretch of Pacific ocean sand just south of Santa Barbara, California. A place where the Proffers have spent memorable and meaningful afternoons with Huqua and Quincy—namesakes for parent company Huqua Press.

Spencer Proffer is a highly regarded media producer and strategist with a long history of connecting with audiences. His productions have garnered Academy, Golden Globe, Emmy, Grammy and Tony awards and nominations. As a music producer, Spencer has sold millions of gold and platinum records.
He will use the Padaro Press platform to create a pioneering publishing paradigm for both Padaro Press and Huqua Press titles, bridging media and manuscripts by bringing pages to life on screen, on devices and live events.
